Golden Nugget
Golden Nugget Las Vegas
SOME FACTS CONFIRMED ON SITE 2026-08-08
The Golden Nugget has recently relocated their poker room to a smaller, but nicely appointed, room towards the back of the casino near the event center where tournaments run in the summer. The room is now far away from smoke which was a common complaint in the old room. Unfortunately, some players have reported that the games are not as soft as they were in the old room because there is basically no walk-by traffic.
The Nugget is the only room left in downtown Vegas, and also the only room in the city which still allows an uncapped buy-in in the small no-limit games. It is still possible to see someone buy-in for $10,000 or more in a $1/3 game, though not as common as it once was.
The rake is a bit of an issue, with $6+2 leaving them tied for the highest rake in town on the house side. Most strip casinos are $5 on the house side. Parking is comped by the poker room, food is not yet available tableside but is easy to get and can be ordered ahead so you can pick it up from a number of restaurants in the building.
$4/8 fixed-limit holdem is frequently available, something you rarely see in strip cardroom, though the rake makes a game this small unbeatable in the long run.
The Nugget is on the Bravo system, but you can call in and get on a list ahead of time.
